My Father Hari Singh : The Bhagat Singh of today

Hari Singh, a teacher by profession and a politico-social activist acclaimed & respected by many revolutionary personalities for his crystal clear ideology of VASUDHAIVA  KUTUMBAKAM, had always emphasized on making earth, a better place for humanity. He was a common man like us all but had duly realized the need of being human rather than just living as human being. It might be possible that his ways of attending to the duties of patriotism were not correct but he had a great vision, a great dream, and a great thought, India of our dreams.

Bhagat Singh once said, “If the government goes deaf, closes eyes and sleeps, it is of great need to wake them up, even if we need a bomb for that, so that welfare shouldn’t be hindered.”  What wrong did Hari Singh do then? He just wanted to awaken the somnolent government who had turned its back on the growing violence Pan-India. He didn’t even think once and made a giant leap for the nation’s good, risking the future of his family. A judge of honorable high court of Allahabad said during his verdict on a case, “It is said that the greatest risk in life is not daring to take risk when occasion for the same arises.”

Hari Singh took the risk, and there he is today, sitting puzzled in prison number 4 of Tihar Jail, serving a Life Sentence, his plea has been pending in Rashtrapati Bhawan for mercy, his family is hurt and clueless about their future. Hari Singh took the risk for us, and now it is our turn to payback, he did it all for our sake, so that we may live in comfort, and he was awarded discomfort for life. This is not justice, we want justice for him. He is the Indian, we all aspire to be, we can’t let his sacrifices go in vain, as he spent all these years away from his family, it wasn’t his own need, it was the nation’s need, that he catered to. It was a call of humanity that he listened to; we can’t let him suffer like that. We have to save this son of soil at any cost, & we won’t let another family robbed of their future like Sarabjit Singh’s family. We have to stand by him & we will. Let’s take a pledge to get our brother free, so that his family could live in comfort. Let’s be the patriot the country needs. Let’s be the helping hands of Hari Singh.
